Today on the blog we wanted to share one of our favourite No Knead Bread recipe we make in our trusted Le Creuset French Oven, with a side order of baked brie of course! If you’ve followed along for years – you’ll know that Le Creuset cookware is a staple in our kitchen and always has been. Which was why being an Ambassador for Le Creuset Canada this year has been so fitting for the blog, we use every thing Le Creuset in our kitchen from baking, to frying or slow cooking – it’s honestly our favourite! We have so many more delicious recipes to share with you over the coming months but for now we will leave you with these two, the bread recipe is from the Le Creuset Canada website where you can find SO many great meal ideas. And don’t be intimidated, this recipe is something fun you can make with the kids. You just might not be able to leave the table until the entire loaf is gone! 😉
This week we also held an exciting giveaway with Le Creuset Canada where 1 lucky winner got to pick a 4.2L French Oven in the colour of their choice, we’ve listed the winner at the end of this blog post. Congrats!
No Knead French Oven Bread Recipe
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tsp salt
- ¼ tsp instant yeast
- 1 ½ cup warm water
In a large bowl combine flour, yeast and salt. Add water, stir until blended; dough will be shaggy and sticky. Cover bowl with plastic wrap. Let dough rest over night at room temperature.
Lightly flour a work surface and place dough on it; sprinkle it with a little more flour and fold it over on itself once or twice. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let rest about 15 minutes.
Using just enough flour to keep dough from sticking to work surface or to your fingers, gently and quickly shape dough into a ball. Generously coat a cotton towel with flour, put dough seam side down on towel and dust with more flour. Cover with another cotton towel and let rise for about 2 hours. When it is ready, dough will be more than double in size and will not readily spring back when poked with a finger.
Preheat oven to 450°F. Place the French oven in the oven as it preheats. Carefully remove pot from oven. Slide your hand under towel and turn dough over into pot, seam side up. Shake pan once or twice if dough is unevenly distributed; it will straighten out as it bakes. Cover with lid and bake 30 minutes, then remove lid and bake another 15 to 30 minutes, until loaf is beautifully browned. Cool on a rack.
