Bliss List

This week was a busy one, we’ve been working a lot on the outside of the house to prepare for some filming and a photo shoot next week. Landscaping is serious work guys, I was SO sore after 2 days of it. Muscles I don’t think I’ve used for years haha! The kids have been enjoying the time outside with us, helping to plant things, discovering new bugs. We have a robin’s nest on the outside of the house and we’ve been logging its progress as a family for the past few weeks. It started with 2 beautiful blue eggs, then 4 and all of the eggs hatched yesterday. All 4 of the baby birds made it!

It’s been awhile since we’ve posted a Bliss List for you so I thought I would round up some of my favs over the past week. Stay tuned for some exciting partnerships in June and delicious recipes!

One

I’ve been on a soup bender this past week, craving every thing from a thick homemade tomato to this delicious kale & lentil soup we had at our favourite local juicery. I had the soup 2 days in a row and I have been craving it since. I am working on getting the exact recipe for you guys but in my searches on good ol’ Pinterest, I stumbled upon this goodie for you by Jess of the Choosing Chia Blog. The name obviously called out to me, ‘the weeknight slow cooker lentil soup’. And guess what, the kids LOVED it too, hallelujah! You can find the full recipe {here}, how delicious does this look?

Two

We found a new book this week that we are really enjoying with the kiddos, paired with their nature journals and magnifying glasses – it’s been one of their favourite things (besides seeing Aladdin this week of course). The book is called ‘The Long Lost Book of Adventures” by Teddy Keen, it’s seriously intriguing! This of course isn’t a book you read all in one night and I would say it’s great for kids ages 4 & up, but we’ve been reading little bits of it every night and last night we read some under a blanket fort with a flashlight…probably the highlight of my week as a mama. Talk about nostalgia! You can find this great book {here} or click below to find it and more of our kids favs.

Three

While we were in Isle of Palms on family vacation in March, Business & Pleasure Co. sent us the most beautiful beach umbrellas and beach chairs for us all to enjoy while on vaca. I love the vintage look of their umbrellas and the fringe details on both the umbrella & chairs and how well made they are. This umbrella actually comes with a travel bag too and we were easily able to travel with it back home to Canada without any damage! I can’t wait to hit the beach with it this summer and I am ordering their white or yellow beach chairs and family beach tent to match. You can find all of their beautiful products {here} and stay tuned next week when we share our Charleston Family Vacation blog!

Four

Speaking of our family vacation, many of you have been asking where to find my “A la Plage” slippers from our trip – you can see them in my image above at the beach. I’ve hunted the internet and found them {here}, I hope they have your size for you! Espadrilles are my go-to 3/4 months of the year – they are comfortable and can easily be dressed up or down. Throw them on with a summer dress or your fav pair of jeans and a beachy sweater!

Five

I swear I get stir crazy if we haven’t taken off on an adventure once a month. If you already have the travel bug like me, prepare to be teased by this article on Architectural Digest. The list off the 5 places Art & Design Lovers should travel this June. I have been to 2 on their list and I must confess that now I want to visit the rest even more! You can read the full article {here}. Can you guess what part of the world this photograph is from? Have you been there? Do tell in the comment section below!

Six

If you follow us over on Instagram you’ll know that we’ve been hunting for land for awhile to build our next home but finding that perfect land is not easy. So until fate brings us our next spot, I have been filling up my ‘Our Forever Home’ Pinterest board…to the brim haha! Check out some of my inspiration for our build {here}, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy pinning these photos. Many of you already know that I am a big believer in vision boards, my stove – the exact make & colour was on my vision board TEN years ago and now it is in my kitchen! This isn’t the only thing that has come to life from my boards either, I encourage you to try making your own. They can be super fun and give you a nice focus. Below are 4 of my top ten for our next house. What are your thoughts are my style for our build? Could you imagine sipping your morning coffee on this beautiful balcony in the image above in the morning? I sure can! This image above was from a custom home by Colfax Custom Construction.

This last photo is my dream kitchen, the vintage French vibes and that greenhouse ceiling. I actually featured this kitchen in an older blog post you can find {here} too!

I hope you enjoyed this weeks Bliss List and wishfully I can get more of these out in June for you. Have an amazing weekend! xo
