We recently shared our love of Vitamix with all of you on the blog and so why not share another one of the uses for it in our home? It is no secret that I am a coffee fan, but after living in New Zealand for 3 years I became a little bit of a “coffee snob”! I am quite picky with my coffee and ideally I try to only use freshly ground coffee, this is why I subscribed to Reunion Island’s coffee subscription {found here}. Reunion Island coffee roasters is a local Toronto, Ontario company at 385 Roncesvalles Ave and one of my favourite coffee shops in the city! I’m sure you’d know them by their statement tile floor that says “COFFEE”, I’m totally guilty of doing the odd “shoefie” there! Checkout their Instagram here and you’ll know what I mean – @ricoffeeco

Reunion Island is proud to offer coffees that are certified as both Fair Trade and organic. These double-certified coffees support economic stability for farmers in producing countries and environmentally sound farming techniques. Reunion Island Coffee Roasters is Canada’s largest coffee roaster to be bullfrogpowered and has been operating using 100% green, carbon-free power since June 2008. – Just 2 of the many amazing things Reunion Island coffee roasters are a part of…learn more about their sustainability record here!

They ship me a box of my favourite coffee beans the first week of every month and I can customize the box however I wish! I like to mix their Swiss Water Medium Roast Decaf Blend {found here} with their Small Lot  Ethiopian Blend. So, every Sunday I’ve been using my Vitamix 780 model to grind 2 types of beans together for what I feel is the perfect blend for us. I pour my grinds into a large mason jar, seal it and put it in the fridge for my week of coffee brewing. I drink coffee casually all day, hot or cold (mostly cold #momlife) – dependant on how the day goes. So, I’ve gravitated to drinking decaf, if I drink just regular caffeinated coffee I tend to get the jitters and feel out of sorts, blending the two beans has made for coffee that I can enjoy all day….and maybe into the evening as well LOL!

So, without further ado….the winner of the Copper Heritage Vitamix is… Mel Nadon.

Congratulations!! We are so so excited for you and to top it all off Reunion Island Coffee Roasters are throwing in a 3 month Roasters Choice coffee subscription!!!! Please email us to collect your prizes.

We just might have another Vitamix giveaway coming up so stay stay tuned!!

On another note, I wanted to add that your entries had me both in stitches and tears, from funny comments about you wanting something that cleans itself due to hectic lifestyles or non blender cleaning hubbies to some heart string-tugging ones. As much as I wish sometimes that I could pick a winner, I can’t. We have an automated system that filters through our entries and once the winner is selected we verify that they have entered as per the specifications before announcing. We are so grateful you all took the time to take part in the giveaway and share it with those you know and if you are or know of someone who is in need of a Vitamix for medical/health or hardship reasons please have them visit the Vitamix donation application page {HERE}. This program is just another great example of why this is such a great company and we are so proud to be working with them,  thanks so much for sponsoring this post Vitamix & thanks for such a great product!
