Today we’ve partnered up with Faris Team to share 6 features home buyers want in a house with you, if you are considering selling your home now or in the future – these are great tips to keep in mind!
Home Buyers want privacy. A feature of our home that helped the sale was our larger sized lot which provided privacy for families to walk their own forest & lot, a toboggan hill in the winter as well as plenty of entertaining space within the privacy of mature trees. Not everyone has a forested backyard with walking trails, but planting trees or building screens into your backyard landscaping can do wonders in creating privacy.
2. Curb appeal
First impressions are everything – even in real estate. We learned that home buyers make a decision in the first seven seconds of looking at a home so taking the time to clean, declutter, touch up paint and repair the front of your home will pay off.
3. Quality finishes
When renovating this home we made sure to install quality finishes. Finishes like engineered hardwood flooring, custom interior doors and lighting, custom trim & moulding. Our custom library wall was also something that home buyers enjoyed when viewing the home.
4. Functional and nice kitchen
If you really want to get a home buyers’ attention, spend a little extra time and money on your kitchen; it will pay off. Home buyers will be closely inspecting your kitchen so make sure it’s a showstopper by updating it so it’s beautiful and functional.
5. A clean and neutral house
We’ve always decorated with neutral colours and paint tones, white gives buyers that feel of a blank canvas and shows the size of the space well. It’s a clean and neutral look, buyers can envision their own things in the spaces. Faris Team’s help with staging truly helped us hone in on this task by reducing clutter in the spaces of the home as well before showings.
6. A good neighbourhood
I grew up in Midhurst, Ontario so I knew from experience that this neighbourhood had a great sense of community and it’s proximity to a great school how safe it was.
A big thanks to Faris Team for working with us today to gather this information for you guys, we’ve truly enjoyed partnering with them and we are so glad you’ve been enjoying this real estate content!
