Front Porch Holiday Decor 2018

Decorating our new front porch this holiday season was SO much fun, I couldn’t wait to style our porch swing!! Craig custom made this porch swing for our house during our exterior flip partnership with Home Depot, we’ve been meaning to get the DIY sets up for you guys but we are way behind. I promise we are posting that in the New Year! For everyone asking, our matching family pyjamas are from Lazy One!

The holiday Front Porch decor all started with a plaid flannel cover for our porch swing mattress and my ideas grew from there. We used pillows we already had from Mcgee & Co and styled in their adorable holiday metal buckets on the porch with some fresh & faux greens, the largest bucket made for the perfect home for a real tree from our local tree farm too. This tree farm is where we’ve picked up a real tree every year (that we re-plant after) and it’s actually the same tree farm where we got married!! It holds a special place in our hearts and even if we have faux flocked trees inside over the last couple of years, I will always have love for a real tree and need it somewhere.

To keep with the magnolia leaf theme we had indoors for our holiday decor this year, I stuck with a nice simple magnolia wreath on the door and I love how it pops against our new black front door! I used a nice, simple brass door wreath hanger that I’ve used for years – it has a cute brass bell on it at the top and was under $10, perfect. The cute gold set of bells we hung on both plant hangers on the front porch are actually from Home Depot and were on sale for $5! We’ve had so many compliments on them too.

The large NOËL sign was actually made by a friend of mine Courtney who runs a local shop called The Cozy Cabin, we’ve been featuring her beautiful handmade decor items for 2 years now and I was so excited to feature this one for out front porch holiday decor!

I ordered 2 doormats this year for holiday decor, don’t be surprised – merry is an understatements around here for Christmas haha. I picked one that said ‘Bonjour Noël’ and another that said “Meet me under the Mistletoe”, for these photos we used the Bonjour one though. Both are from a shop we order from on ETSY called FoxClover Boutique. I layered it over the gingham rug from Mcgee & Co. since the composite is super slippery otherwise in the winter (trust me) and you guys know I love layering rugs, I love how it looked for this front door decor! What do you guys think? I love this gingham rug so much and it’s SO easy to clean, I plan to order other sizes in it for a couple spots inside the house too.

All of the items we used are on sale so I tried my best to link to them above and in the images below too.

In the spirit of sharing Boxing Day sales I wanted to share links to my outfit too, these Madewell jeans have been my favourite jeans this year (high waisted are a moms best friend) and I am loving these over-the-knee boots and forest green knit cardigan! My favourite colour is green so it shouldn’t surprise you that I loved this one but it comes in a few colours if green isn’t your thang.
