I’ve got sunshine

I sing “you are my sunshine” to Ella fairly often and it truly does encapsulate what this little girl of mine is to me. Coming up to our wedding I’ve found myself crawling into bed with her at night to get in some extra snuggles…something about me entering into this new chapter as a wife has me wanting to cling to her a little tighter as if we are both growing up a little faster. I hope when the day comes that she is playing with my pretty heels and dresses wanting to be all grown up that I can convince her to hold onto being a kid as tightly as she can, that there is no rush. You all know I am super emotional  mama so perhaps this doesn’t come as a shock to you! I guess most of me really didn’t think anything would be different once Craig and I are officially married but I can’t deny the shifts I am already feeling less than two weeks away. I know that to many we’ve done things “backwards” by having children before marriage but to me, we’ve done it perfectly. I am so excited for our kids to witness their mommy and daddy getting married, to see our first kiss as husband & wife and our first dance as so…I hope Ella remembers us looking into each others eyes and the feel of the entire day. I can’t wait to watch her dance with daddy with a face full of that radiation sweet nature of hers. It has me thinking about how my parents will feel, or could be feeling. I can tell you, I am expecting quite the emotional day!
When our photographer Allison emailed me that she had these images ready for me early I was super giddy, once I got them I started crying (happy tears of course). I have been LOVING twinning with my little Ella and these raincoats by Trout Rainwear (ahem, made in Canada) were perfect for the Spring days we’ve been having. These beautiful raincoats are made with Italian fabrics and 100% waterproof, perfect for families that are a go for a good puddle jumping’! I finally have a raincoat that I can feel fashionable in, and I am in love with the pop of colour…also that Ella and I match of course. One day Noah can use this raincoat too which is perfect for a growing family. And get this, their kids line is called Minnow, how cute is that?? They are designed in Toronto and made in Vancouver…all Canadian, you know how I love that! We ended up having a good rain this day and afterwards the sun came out beaming, we sang and danced in the backyard while Allison snapped away getting candid shots of Ella in her boots on the wrong feet (we told her but she hadn’t a care in the world and I love it that way). Another bundle of memories I get to print and add to the albums to keep forever, so very grateful! Outfit details below xo
