I hope you had a fabulous New Years and that you are working hard at your resolutions already! 2015 was beautifully chaotic, as you know I say this about parenting all of the time but truly the entire year was exactly that. I was lucky to be with my family and to work with some amazing brands & people. 2016 has a lot in store for this blog and I am bursting at the seams to share it all with you, we have lots of exciting news over the coming months and some super fun collaborations too! I am blessed to share my life with you and it be my job and so thankful that you take the time to read about it and follow me on social media with your sweet & encouraging comments. There are SO many amazing bloggers out there and I am lucky to be a part of this big world of blogging and honoured that you enjoy mine. I get emails from all of you often using words like ‘inspiring’ about me and this blog and I have to say that YOU are the inspirational ones! I couldn’t have done any of this without your support and my business has only made it this far thanks to you!

I haven’t sat down to write my resolutions yet but they’ve been on my mind for some time, so here is me typing it down instead. What are your goals for 2016? Here are my top 3;

  1. Be More Organized!! This year I drowned myself in product and features by taking on way more work than I could handle as a stay at home mom with 2 littles. I have already started being much more selective with my work and leaving myself more wiggle room with work deadlines when planning. I’ve also been working hard to add in more aesthetically pleasing storage into my office for products I am sent until it is time to use or photograph them. Also, as you know we plan to keep buying income properties so our current home isn’t a longterm one, it’s hard sometimes to organize a space only to pack up a year later but I’m working on it! Do you have any organizational tips you can share with me in this wild world of parenting?
  2. Sleep More + Drink More Water + Be More Active. My 3 in 1! Craig and I have been talking for years about getting a family pass for our local fitness centre, I have no idea how we will find the time to do it but I really miss going to the gym – even if it’s just once a week! I also am a terrible water drinker, there are days I have 2 coffees and only 1 glass of h2O (yes, I know – terrible!). Also, since before I can remember my sleep has never been a priority and that has to change FAST! All of these 3 are about investing more into myself and my health and that is a big one for my 2016. I need to start taking more time for me other than work, I seem to spend any second away from my family just on work and I need to set aside real time to just get a massage or spend time with a girlfriend.
  3. Learn, Let Go & Move Forward. This industry isn’t always pretty. It sure as heck can be fabulous but 2015 was a big learning curve for me. Sometimes just being a nice person can get you hurt in any industry, in relationships, in life.  I invested a lot of time and money in some people that didn’t appreciate it at all, I had friends who I thought were friends but were simply interested in  my business and how they could replicate it for themselves. I met other bloggers who were plain & simple not inclusive to other bloggers. Now this goal isn’t about me not being as nice to people any more as I tend to give a lot of my energy to people fairly easily, it’s simply about me being more selective about who I give my energy to and surrounding myself with the ones that encourage and believe in me. I mean the ones who REALLY genuinely want me to succeed. Working and interacting with women who are about supporting one another and not just taking for themselves or poaching each others content. I LOVE helping people in the world of blogging and social media – when they straight up ask me and appreciate that my time is valuable. I have two kids & a husband that are my priority, I have old & new friends who mean the world to me, I have my own business and then the time I get after that which is minimal. This goal is about what I’ve learnt, letting go of the negative feelings and moving forward with a new mindset. in 2015 I was so blessed to meet some amazing women in this industry and I know they will be lifelong friends, you meet some not so great people but the great ones surpass that! Sometimes we get bruises or breaks but I try to remind myself that there are people in this world fighting more bigger battles.

Every day you are learning more about who you are and as a parent I am learning more about my children, I am learning more about my husband every day too! It is important to know who you are even though you are changing as well and growing as a person, to know where you draw the line and what your standards and morals are. Being kind and generous is never a bad thing, sure vulnerability comes with it but it is important to feel good in your skin. I am purging the negative from my life little by little while staying focused, giving my energy and time to those that truly deserve it. Sorry for this super super long post!
