Walkin’ in a winter wonderland

This winter has been quite the cold one, we have had our share of days now with a windchill making it feel like -40 outside…yes, of course we hid under the covers and avoided the outdoors. I am not one to complain about the winter as I do find it quite a beautiful & romantic time of here and by rushing this it only rushes the growth of our kiddos with it and we all know how emotional that gets me! My skin however is truly suffering this time around, I have NEVER been so plagued by dry skin. I know that post pregnancy things go back to not being so lustrous, like that wonderful sheen your hair and nails have right around the 38 week mark…not that we are noticing anything but our swollen ankles at this point lol! Any way, my skin = disastrous and if I can anticipate anything about spring it is the return of my skin. I never wear foundation, sure I get discolourations and red areas but overall I can go daily without foundation…I despise foundation on my skin as I feel I always look better without it. I love a good bronzer, a faint blush and my mascara but this season I will not leave the house without some concealer on from being a tired mama of course and this damn red, dry and painful skin patching! My egyptian magic is only JUST getting me by, I can feel it trying to work its magic but this frigid and dry air is much too powerful this time around. I’ve got my humidifier going around the clock now and I am drinking 2L+ of water a day, taking my fish oils and clinging to the dream that things will continue to get better as they have over the last two days! On a brighter note we have been lucky enough to work with Baby Jogger & 7AM Enfant to share some amazing products with you. When we were toying with the idea of venturing to the double stroller world I knew right away it would be a Baby Jogger City Select, every mother around our area with two kiddos was rocking one of these strollers and raved about it when I would ask them how they enjoyed it. So here we are taking a winter stroll with ours and yes it handled great on our Canadian terrain not that we do these kind of brisk walks frequently lol! We also have the bassinet attachment that works wonderfully for mall walks, I hope to get you all some shots of it soon on our Instagram account. This stroller handles so well and what drew me in was not only that it has several options- well 16 to be exact that it truly can grow with your family. Every other stroller I researched was bulky and this one can be turned into a single stroller once Ella is no longer keen to use it. Most doubles stay a double but not this one. We also love the black sleek look, Craig loves all black cars and watches and of course we had to get the all black double stroller ha! I am so happy to be collaboration with such an awesome brand that really helps me get around with my two littles and I am positive I will have a ton more to tell you once we have used it more in the coming seasons.

Just to make cruising around in a stroller that much better, 7AM Enfant sent us their WarmMuff gloves and our two kiddos their ‘Le Sac Igloo‘ bunting bags…these things are unreal!!!! I am so super jealous that I do not get to crawl into one of these and cruise around, the faux fur of course makes my heart beat fast but how darling my babes look in them all bundled up kills me more. You can remove the faux fur (why on earth would you??) as well as unzip the entire front panel to use it as a blanket! There are so many fabulous features about these things I could truly go on for quite some time, they are water repellant and your little stays nice and snug going to and from the vehicle or for a stroll. These things are magnificent and I wish we connected with this company sooner, they sent Ella a toddler one (size large) in army that she can use till she is roughly 3 years old and Noah the medium in black that fits 6-18months. Craig and I of course especially love the gloves as with these wind chills it was so nice to have some protection on our hands as we sped inside the mall yesterday out of the cold. This brand was founded by a French designer Rebecca Campora and these items are more than just stroller blankets, they are a Canadian staple for parents. I am so excited to use them for walks as Spring nears and we still need something to keep the kids warm during a walk…no more blankets being stuffed in the sides or consistently sliding down while the kids try to get comfy! If you are into trending by the celebs you will see that mamas Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Hudson & Jessica Alba love these bad boys too and other pieces from their line. This winter is definitely a lot cuter with these stroller blankets for our kids!
I loved getting some shots of us all together all bundled up in our winter gears and it was the perfect chance to get some pictures of all of us in our favourite Lil Fox Shoppe beanies and my oh-so favourite forest green infinity scarf Janelle made me! We even brought out a blanket of our own for some mommy + daddy photos, the kids lit up watching us play in the snow, snuggle and laugh our canuck buns off. xo
