Christmas Home Tour Part 2

Ella asked me to put these trees up here and I almost said no because they were so imperfectly shaped, but I said yes and it put the biggest smile on her face. To be honest, I kind of love how wonky they look paired with this vintage piece of art we found this fall of a winter scene! I honestly almost packed up this table this year, totally a selfish move because I just didn’t want it in the way of the fireplace any more but the kids really do use it every day. So, I left it and of course they have been enjoying it so much this season with yummy hot chocolates and fresh baked cookies! Ella is wearing her favourite Vonbon dress in the photos above and Noah is rocking one of their sweaters, you can check out their line {here}. They are a Canadian company!
Christmas Home Tour Part 2 Decor DIY DIY Family Food Greenthumb Home Living Recipes Uncatagorized
Boy has this season been a whirlwind am I right!?! I cannot wait to kick my feet up and enjoy some cuddles and Christmas movies with the family. Every Christmas Eve we are with Craig’s parents and his sister & her hubby come with the kiddos and we all have a sleep over- well the kids do not really sleep but still haha! It’s one of my favourite times of year and I am excited to introduce our Gatsby boy too it, he has no idea what kind of spoiling he is in for. I can tell you, that beyond all of the colds going around and the endless tissue boxes emptying, the kids have been loving all of the Christmas baking going on around here. Last week was a hard one for me with all of us being sick but I have been trying so hard to still keep the magical time of this season alive in our house. My friend Andrea from Harlow & Thistle Blog that I mentioned in the first part of our home tour helped me to make this mini wreaths of cedar for the back of our bar stools and I attached these little snow shoe ornaments from last years decor. The kids love them! I wanted to get these super cute mini wreaths from the Hearth & Hand collection but when we went to the states last month they were all sold out and of course you couldn’t even order them online, so naturally I turned to Andrea to see if she could maybe re-create those wreaths for us. She of course got to it right away and you can see the lovely wreath she made hanging above our kitchen sink! We love it so much with the gold bells and she has the #diy for the wreath on her blog now. I am still so happy I kept things super simple this year, with us still unpacking so many things and not even having a closet yet (more on this at a later date haha) I really didn’t want a huge clean up after the holidays, I wanted us all to be able to relax and enjoy the time Craig has off together. SO let it begin!

I wanted to wait closer to Christmas to share the 2nd part of our Christmas home tour, especially since we decided to carry on with the rest of our giveaways in the New Year. However, we have one more left guys…do you have a Vitamix on your Christmas list? YES! Well, we decided to share one last giveaway with you guys for the holidays and for this one you can enter until midnight on December 28th!!!

We teamed up with The Feed Feed & Vitamix to share a yummy recipe we made with the Vitamix Winter Spice recipe we were sent in the cutest glass jar, this spice blend is delicious and can be used for so many different recipes! We actually made vanilla cupcakes with eggnog icing using the spice mix right after making these ginger loaves. I will share that recipe tomorrow possibly if I get around to it after all of my last minute packing in the morning, I know…you can shake your head at me haha. I always have a few last minute items and usually end up wrapping on Christmas Eve morning sipping on a latte and blasting the Christmas music. The kids usually help me for these because it is almost always what I’ve picked up for Craig or the cousins & grandparents!

This ginger loaf recipe is perfect for any last minute gifts you may need to put together, if you enjoy baking of course. I picked up these cute mini loaf pans and once the deliciousness is cooled I wrap them and add a cute bow and gift tag. People always appreciate freshly baked gifts and they can wash and re-use these delicious loaf pans too!

So, for the yummy recipe & giveaway…1 lucky winner will be getting a beautiful new Vitamix Ascent 3500 machine – a staple in our household guys. We use it for making soups, a lot of our baking or smoothies and even spreads! This amazing appliance is valued over $800 and who ever wins it is going to be SO happy, did I mention it cleans itself!?!
