Family Travel: Whistler

Today we wanted to share a little bit more about our trip to Whistler from October, this was the 2nd part of our trip to BC as a family with American Express. Such a fun adventure to have all together and a great first time to Vancouver for Craig and the kids!!The kids loved the ride up the mountain, no fear!!! Finally made it to the top of Blackcomb! Such a beautiful view but it was SO windy lol!!!Time for a hot coffee or mom and warm coconut milk for my mini! She was so excited!
A little family shot before a yummy Thanksgiving dinner at the Wildflower restaurant in the Fairmont Whistler. The area was decorated and the kids loved examining all of the mini pumpkins and squashes!
Such a gorgeous view from our room every day!Off for a swim with daddy! How cute are the little Fairmont robes for kids???All of us in our SwimZip suits! It was chilly outside but the pools were so nice and warm, and the view was gorgeous too!Time to check out some parks in the area for the kids!Daddy hiding the go pro from the kids…Mommy has it, muhaha lol
They loved the park and met so many local kids!Trying to steal in a pic!As you can see from some of the photos we got, Whistler was such a fun time for the entire family! We were so busy that we weren’t even able to capture all of the fun!! We stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler on the gold floor (a must with kiddos). I have said this so many times that I swear my family thinks that I work for the Fairmont but the gold floor is the BEST when travelling, we have access to our own concierge and floor and there is a gold lounge with food and beverages all day…if you have kids then you know exactly why this is perfection when travelling!! Kids want food all-the-time lol and this was so perfect for whenever they wanted a snack we could walk down to the lounge, we didn’t have to order room service! We also loved this lounge because it was so family friendly, the staff was so courteous and patient with the littles and they even had a little library where the kids could pick out DVD’s to bring back to the room and watch with yummy warm cookies & milk at night!! SO cute right?

This hotel is stunning, the view is impeccable and every single Fairmont we visit has such happy and friendly staff. You can tell they love where they work and they take the time to get to know you during your stay, the kids ask about going back all of the time – they were truly spoiled here lol! One of the nights after dinner they had a kids zone set up in one of the ballrooms with play costumes, toys, crafts and a HUGE bouncy castle!! It was during the week of Thanksgiving so they had so many fun activities for the entire family – the perfect spot to visit around that time of year. The hotel kindly invited us to a beautiful thanksgiving dinner as a family, so delicious (like all of their food)!

Family Travel Tip: Go Fairmont gold if you are visiting a Fairmont, you will never have to stress about not having enough snacks for the little ones or ordering room service!

We also enjoyed a swim in the pool every day with the kids, it was pretty chilly outside but the pool is kept at such a lovely temperature that we could swim while taking in the gorgeous fall views around us. The mountains and trees, the mountains and trees….stunning! We also took some time to explore the area around us, hitting local parks and meeting families that live there – some really cool people. All of the kids were so into the outdoors and so sweet too, we learned about a few daycares and schools in the area that are focused around outdoor play and learning – their education is given out in the flora & fauna…so cool! We of course had to take the kids up to Blackcomb mountain and they LOVED the gondola ride, I was curious if they would be scared of the heights but they giggled and laughed the entire time in awe of the cool experience and the views. Craig broke out the Go Pro too and we all know kids love those things haha they got to film some of the ride up to the top! At the top we enjoyed some lunch then headed back down to hit the hotel pool, have a yummy dinner and get some rest before our road trip back to downtown Vancouver! If you are looking for a reason to visit the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, you don’t need a special one! Just plan a fun family trip for a weekend, there are so many fun activities all year round and the hotel will take great care of you.
