Mikaella Bridal Gown | DIY Cake – Macarons by Colette Grand Cafe  | Mr & Mrs Cake Topper | Flower Girl Dress | Wedding Decor | Rings

Is it possible that this is another favourite grouping of photos of mine of our wedding!?! Every time I look at the photos of our cake I am reminded of exactly why we wanted a unique cake, a macaron cake and I am still SOOO happy we did it! We picked up 100 PERFECT macarons from Colette Grand Cafe in Toronto and rushed home to get them in the fridge until it was time to start building the cake – not every macaron made it home lol! Our friend Natalie Elliot came by and worked on our bouquets and boutonnieres and she stayed until wee hours of the night to build this cake with us and give it every bit of attention it needed, it turned out even better than I imagined and people still tell us how much they loved it! The cake was a delicious way to incorporate my French background and of course we just plain love these things, Ella especially and before she learnt to say macaron she would call them “cookie jams”. When you find a cafe that makes a good macaron, you won’t stray & Colette did not disappoint! Our cake topper turned out magical and suited the decor perfectly and aghhh I just can’t stop swooning over the flower girl dresses, I wish that print came in a midi skirt for me- we would rock our matching floral around the house all year long! I’ve linked to some things above and if you have any questions you know you can email me, I have already been asked quite a bit about my ring and our table linens from the wedding so I’ve made sure to link to our decorator (my mother in law) & our ring designers. I love that we have some photos of us dancing with the kids and there’s a clear shot of my hair where you can see the blue hair pin my mother got me with a hummingbird on it to symbolize my nana who couldn’t be with us on our special day as she had passed away the year before we had Ella. I know she would have loved our wedding, she was a big gardener and loved the outdoors. Whenever I see hummingbirds or dragon flies I always think of her and Craig is always the first person to point dragon flies out to me in the summer, it’s moments like those when I smile and give a sigh of bliss… Now if you’ll excuse me I am off to stare some more at the adorable shot of Craigs face while Ella walks to him during our first dance sawoooooon!! Happy Wedding Wednesday! xo
