Comfy House

Okay, how often does a stay at home mama really put on a full face of makeup & real clothes? Lets be honest here…rarely! I have a lot of friends that think that because I put up some posts with me in a full ensemble it means I am this super mom that has time every day to put on mascara, curl my hair and wear skinny jeans…not the case, at all! If you know me well you know that I live for my Roots track pants or leggings + hoodie , comfortable nursery friendly tank tops and some comfy socks (if I even put socks on that day). Brands send me some AHmazing outfits and yes I adore the pieces but I tend to keep them aside for when I actually leave the house…once again, rare. Actually, to be quite frank my kids get into outfits more often than I do…I think I spend more energy styling them than myself! I mean we all know just how adorable kids clothes are, who wouldn’t? When Hold Me Close sent me a couple of their chic nursing scarves I was impressed, I never use a cover – yes I am THAT whip-out-our-boob mom (and proud) – these things really CAN be worn as scarves, it isn’t a big fat fib. Some companies claim that their nursing covers can be used fashionably which in reality just cannot happen but these scarves really do the trick! I really enjoyed this mustache one because it can be worn casually which is the ideal convenience for me these days and I cannot wait to show you all the second print they sent us when we start shooting our Spring ensembles that include a bunch of nursing friendly pieces! I find it super important to be comfortable after you’ve just had a baby – to not waste time trying to portray to be someone or something you aren’t…if you are a mama you totally get it – we are tired and are wearing 50% clothing and the other 50% is made up of all of your children’s meals of the day and possible spit up too (thumbs up). Be comfortable mama and be proud, no one is expecting you to be in those heels or skinny jeans right away and I am surely not judging you for rocking that same messy bun 2 days in a row…or for wearing those track pants to the grocery store – you paired them with Hunter boots too right? I hope you are all enjoying your week, I have been snuggling up close with my kiddos watching my childhood favourite movies…maybe in my track pants all day and night too. xo
